How much space does 4K video use on iPhone?

Starting with the iPhone 6s and beyond, you can record 4K resolution video at 30 fps. While this may seem like an increase in picture clarity over 1080p – which has been standard on smartphones for years now- there’s one major downside: storage space!

The iPhone is a capable device for recording 4K video, but it does have its limitations. The phone’s storage space can only handle about 375 MB per minute when you’re trying to record high-quality content in ultra HD at 60 fps with a total capturing resolution of 2160p*.

If you want to shoot in 4K, make sure your storage space is ready. Each video file size will be four times as large at 24 minutes versus 12 for 1080p 30 fps content!
