Bluetooth allows AirPods to connect to other iOS devices. Both iPhone and Macbook support Bluetooth, so you can connect to a Macbook using Bluetooth directly. Any Bluetooth audio device can be connected to a Macbook in the same way.
- When your Air pods are inside the case, open the lid.
- You need to press and hold the Setup button at the back of the case for a few seconds to see the status light flash white. This means AirPods are ready to pair.
- Click the Apple menu on your Mac.
- Go to the system preferences.
- Click on Bluetooth.
6.Now, the MacBook will display the AirPods when it searches for nearby Bluetooth devices.
7. To connect to the AirPods, select them from the Bluetooth list.
A popup will appear after clicking the connect button on the Bluetooth list asking if you want to enable “Hey Siri” with the AirPods. You can enable it or choose Cancel to cancel it.

With the new Bluetooth icon in the menu bar, you can see previously connected Bluetooth devices. When you click on the menu bar, you can connect and disconnect your AirPods from here.
By connecting the MacBook to the iPhone, AirPods will work
Your MacBook must support the handoff feature and both your iPhone and MacBook need to have the same Apple ID so that you can connect your AirPods even faster if you have already connected them to your iPhone.
1.To open the AirPod case, open the lid.
2.Click the volume control in the menu bar and then choose AirPods from the list of devices.
How to Configure AirPods in Mac
The Bluetooth menu in the Mac’s menu bar contains a couple of options you can configure in the AirPods. In the AirPods tab, click the options button to open the options.
The microphone in AirPods or the mic in Mac can be selected as the microphone.
AirPods automatically detect your ear when you don’t wear them and the audio will be played through your Mac’s speakers.
By pressing and holding the left/right AirPod, you can decide what should happen.
The noise cancellation toggle can be toggled however you like.
