The experience of forgetting your phone’s pattern or lock code can be quite frustrating.
When this occurs, some people may consider their phone permanently broken.
It is impossible to get into the phone, so people simply assume that a factory reset is not possible.
There are, however, some steps you can take before throwing away your phone.
What is the procedure for restoring the factory settings of my locked Android phone?
Although each manufacturer’s Android phone is slightly different, the process for resetting a locked phone to factory settings is almost identical. Most stock Android devices follow a similar procedure.
Please turn off your phone first. Now, hold down both the power and volume down buttons until the phone returns to its normal operating state.
A series of white letters appear on a black background here.
Navigating the menu is accomplished by using the volume keys. Press the volume down key until you locate recovery mode.

You know that you have arrived at the right destination when you see the Android logo lying on his back.

Galaxy
The older Samsung phones that have a home button operate differently.
While the device is off, press and hold the volume up button, the power button, and the home button.
The power button can be released when the device vibrates.
You can now release the other buttons and the recovery menu will appear.
With the volume buttons, select “Delete all user data.” Click on the power button to confirm that you wish to erase the phone.
Bixby is the name given to the button found on newer phones that do not have a home button.
Until you hear a vibration, hold down the volume button, the power button, and the Bixby button.
All buttons should now be released.
Select “wipe data/factory reset” by scrolling to the bottom of the screen and pressing the power button.
The device will be reset once you press the power button.
Some Samsung devices require power to be connected to perform a factory reset.
Microsoft
Motorola is a little challenging. It is essentially the same procedure, except for one additional step.
Turn off the device and press and hold the volume down and power buttons simultaneously.
If you select the “RECOVERY MODE” option, a menu will appear that includes that option. Select the “RECOVERY MODE” option by pressing the power button.
You will be presented with a screen featuring the Android robot and an exclamation point.

You may have to try several times before getting it right, but eventually, you will find yourself in recovery mode.
The remainder of the process is the same as the previous steps. Choose “wipe data/factory reset” by pressing the volume buttons and confirm your choice by pressing the power button.
Do I need a program?
The internet is flooded with programs that promise to unlock and reset your Android device.
The majority of the time, these are poor choices. Some of them may contain malicious software that can damage your computer or steal your personal information.
Furthermore, they are not free.
Even if they work, you will be paying them for a service that you could have easily accomplished yourself for free.
The bottom line: do not pay for a recovery program for Android devices.
Many offers seem too good to be true, and often they are just that.
Features of additional security
Manufacturers of some mobile phones provide an additional layer of security.
To prevent the device from being factory reset by unauthorized people, this feature has been implemented.
Samsung, for example, will require the password for the Samsung account upon device boot-up if a Samsung account is associated with the device.
As a consequence, if your phone is paired with a Samsung account, the password will be required to boot up the phone after a factory reset.
If you do not know the Samsung account password, you cannot reactivate a Samsung device ethically.
If, however, the device was never paired with a Samsung device, no password will be required to reactivate the device.
Upon rebooting other Android devices, such as the Pixel, the Google Account password will be required.
Once again, devices that have not been associated with an email account will not require a password.
There is still hope, however.
Both Google and Samsung provide account recovery tools for users who wish to change their Google or Samsung login credentials to something they know.
You can do this by visiting their website, completing the form, and selecting your new password.
Upon rebooting your phone, you will be able to enter the setup process.
